Who is author?

I’m just a dude that wanted to collect all the information about the current affairs of censorship and mass surveilance and help the normal citizen navigate this, since the information on this is spread out across the internet and is developing rapidly.

I have also heard the argument “If you have nothing to hide, you have nothing to fear”, but this is not about hiding anything but just normal privacy. My counter to that statement is always “well, If you have absolutely nothing to hide, then let me install a CCTV camera in your bathroom”. That is what I mean by privacy and mass surveilance, I got nothing to hide but that does not mean I want a CCTV camera in my bathroom since that violates my privacy and I feel the same thing about these issues.

How did this report come to life?

I started seeing a lot of news and reports about the trends of the new laws and propals concerning the internet. I then started talking to people around me and was baffled when they haven’t heard about any of this or was just confused about it all. Which is when I started collecting sources about this, but since I know that just spamming people about the issues never work, I instead starting making this report/website, to then give to the people around me so they have one place to go instead many.

Is this whole report/website made by AI?

No it is not. I’m a big believer in not hiding how something is made, so yes AI has helped me since English is not my native language, but I’m a software developer and in my trade being good at reading and understanding English is important, Im just not very good at writing long texts/articles/reports myself. Therefor I have used AI to assist my writing, the sources however I have collected and made sure to cite them in the report, AI just helped me aticulate/translate my thoughts about the topics to text in a language I believe most would understand. I could just have written this in my native language, but English is used almost everywhere in the world and I would rather more people see this and being able to understand than have a perfectly written human-only text :)

I also used AI to generate the ‘podcast’ version of this report, since I don’t have the means to do that myself. I also listen to podcasts myself and would like to be able to listen to a report like this while I do other stuff.
